August 2010 – The various positions on our retirement board are filled by both election and appointment. It is now time to conduct a regular, three-year election for the “fourth member” of the board. As of this writing, the current member in that position, David Gendron, is planning to run for re-election. It is the responsibility of the Advisory Council of the retirement system to run the elections for elected board members. The Advisory Council is made up of the treasurers of each of the units (towns and agencies) that belong to the system. Note: If there is only one qualified, nominated candidate, they are declared the winner and there is no need to send out ballots.
